Prize Winner Exhibition of the Young Artist Förderpreis Bildende Kunst der Schweriner Jazznacht 2018
The exhibition TYP brāmberi by Anton Bo Matzke took place at three different locations across the city of Schwerin, Mecklenburg Vorpommern, Germany. In addition to displayed works at the gallery space of the Schweriner Staatstheater, a sculptural ensemble on a plot of wasteland in the development area Waisengärten was enhanced by a performance on the building ground in Graf-Schack-Allee 10.

Statement of the jury:
„Es ist das scheinbar Beiläufige und häufig Übersehene des Alltäglichen, auf das Anton Bo Matzke seine Aufmerksamkeit richtet. Durch feine Verschiebungen, geringfügige Veränderungen oder Ergänzungen vertrauter Dinge erweitert er den Raum seiner plastischen Arbeit nicht nur aus dem Ausstellungsraum in die Stadt hinein, sondern schließlich bis in die Vorstellung des Betrachters. Ihn fordert er zur aktiven Teilnahme auf und weckt durch seine irritierenden Eingriffe sowie rätselhaften Verbindungen Imaginationen. Durch die Verwendung künstlerischer Strategien wie Improvisation, Verfremdung und Überraschung weist seine Arbeit durchaus vielfältige Parallelen zum Jazz auf.“
